This is the first time ever in the history of Limited Editions that a new release has been showcased virtually.
The wrapper, filler and binder leaves carefully selected for the production of Allones No. 2, made “[tippy title="Totalmente a mano"]Totally by hand. A description created in Havana to differentiate between Cuban methods of making cigars by hand from the semi-mechanised metods used elsewhere that can legally be described as "Hecho a Mano" or "Hand Made".[/tippy] con [tippy title="Tripa Larga"]Long filler. Ramón Allones has been one of the most famous [tippy title="Habanos"]The official Denominación de Origen Protegida (D.O.P.), or Protected Denomination of Origin used only to describe the most outstanding brands of cigars, which are manufactured in Cuba to the most exacting standards established by the Regulatory Council, from tobaccos grown only in particular areas of the island that are also protected as Denominations of Origin. In English the word translates as Havanas, which are widely considered to be the best cigars in the world.[/tippy] brands since its foundation in 1837, and is also one of the oldest in the Habanos, S.A. portfolio. The brand is celebrated for being the first to present its Habanos in decorated boxes, starting a tradition that continues to be appreciated by aficionados to this day. Ramón Allones Allones No. 2 (“Vitola de Galera”-Factory Name- Campanas, 52 ring gauge x 140 mm long) is marketed in a unique, elegant, dark-green box designed especially for the brand, holding 10 Habanos.
Thanks to this event organised by Hunters & Frankau through its network of specialised stores across the UK, a total of 600 guests were offered the opportunity to participate simultaneously in the first exclusive online tasting of this Limited Edition using different digital communication tools. Each participant was given a launch pack specially designed for the occasion, containing a Ramón Allones Allones No.2 Limited Edition Habanos; a 50-ml measure of Hine Cigar Reserve cognac together with a branded glass; custom-made chocolates produced specially to pair with the Ramón Allones Allones No.2 Habano; a Participation Certificate; a Tasting Sheet along with a brief description of the product, the brand, its range of vitolas and of the Limited Edition concept; together with other accessories (cigar cutters and lighters). In addition, the presentation video of this Limited Edition, which had the collaboration of the Co-Presidents of Habanos, S.A., was released simultaneously around the world coinciding with the start of the event. It should be noted that it was a challenge to hold this event under the constraints of social distancing imposed by the current epidemiological situation, especially when bearing in mind the impact that the COVID-19 crisis has had in the United Kingdom and in the rest of the world.
