Cohiba Talisman World Launch in London

[tippy title="Habanos S.A., Corporación"]The Havana-based company, jointly owned by the Cuban industry and the British Imperial Tobacco Group, which markets all 27 Habanos brands worldwide.[/tippy], and Hunters & Frankau, hosted  the global launch of the Cohiba Talismán in London, England on November 7th at The Corinthia Hotel.

Guest arrived from all over the world, including fellow[tippy title="Habanos"]The official Denominación de Origen Protegida (D.O.P.), or Protected Denomination of Origin used only to describe the most outstanding brands of cigars, which are manufactured in Cuba to the most exacting standards established by the Regulatory Council, from tobaccos grown only in particular areas of the island that are also protected as Denominations of Origin. In English the word translates as Havanas, which are widely considered to be the best cigars in the world.[/tippy] distributors and Casa del Habano owners from other territories, to share in celebrating the release of the latest Limited Edition from Cohiba.

For this presentation we also counted with the presence of Excma. Mrs. Teresita Vicente Sotolongo, Cuban Ambassador for the UK; Mr. Manuel Marrero, the Cuban Minister of Tourism; Mr. Leopoldo Cintra González and Mr. José María López Inchaurbe, Commercial  and Development Vice Presidents of Habanos, S.A. respectively and Rodi Manuel Valdés, Vice President of Tabacuba.

One of the highlights of the night was the cigar and Humidor display for “Cohiba – the Ultimate Collection”, displaying a compilation of old and rare releases of Cohiba with several decades of aging.

Another important moment of the event was the raffle of the very first box of Cohiba Talismán off of the production line of El Laguito factory and all proceeds were donated toward helping victims of hurricane Irma in Cuba. Over £10,000 was raised.

The artist Harriet Brocket launched her latest photographic exhibition “Cuba”, bringing a touch of Havana colour to an English evening.

To accompany the Talisman Ruinart Blanc de Blanc Champagne was served alongside three bespoke cocktails created to specifically compliment the [tippy title="Edición Limitada"]Limited Edition. Special productions of Habanos made annually using fillers, binders and wrappers aged at least 2 years before the cigars are made. The wrappers come from the top leaves of the shade-grown (tapado) tobacco plant, which are darker in colour. Boxes can be identified by an extra black and gold seal indicating that they contain Limited Edition Habanos and the year in which they were released. Each Habano is dressed with an extra band giving the same information.[/tippy] Cohiba Talisman’s flavours.

Matthieu de Gottal Chocolatier crafted a selection of fine chocolates exclusively for the evening, while The Dalmore Whisky, Havana Club, Hennessey XC cognac and Difference Coffee Co. were also available to guests.
