Successful Master Lesson
The participants to the VI Habanos Festival passed a great deal of Thursday morning learning how to roll a Habano Robusto.
The master cigar maker José Castelar Cairo-Cueto, who holds the Guinness record for the largest cigar in the world, imparted the Master Lesson that was ranked successful by the audience, and recognised the skills of some pupils, whose presence is already traditional in this practice.
During the lesson, some elements defining the Habano quality were mentioned, namely the way of choosing leaves to manufacture the wrappers, the treatment given to the filler, and the firmness characterising pure cigars.
According to references from expert smokers, in the cigar selection four senses must be present: sight, touch, smell and taste.
