HABANOS, S.A. PRESENTS ITS WORLD PREMIERE OF THE MONTECRISTO SUPREMOS LIMITED EDITION IN ITALY
- Montecristo Supremos, Edición Limitada- Limited Edition 2019, will be presented exclusively by Diadema S.p.A. on 6th July, in Italy.
- This new Edición Limitada -Limited Edition will be marketed in the following months and in very limited quantities, at all the points of sales around the world.

This release will be presented in a special case designed with the brand’s characteristic colours including 25 Habanos made “[tippy title="Totalmente a mano"]Totally by hand. A description created in Havana to differentiate between Cuban methods of making cigars by hand from the semi-mechanised metods used elsewhere that can legally be described as "Hecho a Mano" or "Hand Made".[/tippy] con [tippy title="Tripa Larga"]Long filler. Filler that is made from full-length tobacco leaves.[/tippy]” -Totally Handmande with Long Filler, following a careful selection of the wrapper, filler and binder leaves from the [tippy title="Vuelta Abajo"]The finest tobacco-growing land in the world, Vuelta Abajo is the main source of tobacco for Habanos, and the only zone that grows all types of leaf: wrappers, fillers and binders. A Protected Denomination of Origin.[/tippy] region, considered to be the best land in the world for growing tobacco.
The presentation of Montecristo Supremos will take place on 6th July at the Lanciano Forum, in the Italian region of Matélica where around 450 guests will have the privilege of delighting in this new Montecristo [tippy title="Habanos"]The official Denominación de Origen Protegida (D.O.P.), or Protected Denomination of Origin used only to describe the most outstanding brands of cigars, which are manufactured in Cuba to the most exacting standards established by the Regulatory Council, from tobaccos grown only in particular areas of the island that are also protected as Denominations of Origin. In English the word translates as Havanas, which are widely considered to be the best cigars in the world.[/tippy] Limited Edition. This will be the second world premiere Habanos launch hosted in Italy, given that in 2016, Romeo and Julieta Capuletos were first released in this country too.
Habanos Limited Editions are highly appreciated and anticipated by cigar enthusiasts every year, and even more so when this is a new [tippy title="Vitola"]A word with many meanings. In Cuba it refers to the size and shape of a cigar (vitola de galera factory name, vitola de salida market name) and also to a particular size of cigar in an individual packing. In Spain it means a cigar band or ring (vitolfilia cigar band collecting). To some it has an almost spiritual meaning encapsulating every aspect of their cigar of choice.[/tippy] from one of the world’s benchmark Habano brands. Montecristo Supremos, with a 55 x 130 mm, is the Montecristo with the heaviest ring gauge launched to date.
The Montecristo brand owes its name to the novel “The Count of Montecristo” by Alexandre Dumas. This is one of the most renowned and appreciated Habanos brands worldwide. This benchmark for Habanos flavour was first introduced in the Cuban magazine “Habano” in 1935. Thanks to its distinguished aroma and its “Long Filler” vitolas made totally handmade with leaves from the Vuelta Abajo* region, this Habano has captivated the most experienced smokers. Montecristo progressively began completing its portfolio, originally made up of only five vitolas, gradually filling out an offer that currently covers the taste of the most demanding smokers. Today, the brand has vitolas ranging from the majestic Montecristo A, to other smaller formats such as the Montecristo Joyitas.
