Cohiba 50th Anniversary Dinner
2016 marked the 50th Anniversary of Cohiba, the flagship brand of [tippy title="Habanos"]The official Denominación de Origen Protegida (D.O.P.), or Protected Denomination of Origin used only to describe the most outstanding brands of cigars, which are manufactured in Cuba to the most exacting standards established by the Regulatory Council, from tobaccos grown only in particular areas of the island that are also protected as Denominations of Origin. In English the word translates as Havanas, which are widely considered to be the best cigars in the world.[/tippy]. On December 1st, we hosted our annual gala dinner at Repulse Bay to commemorate this anniversary.
Enjoying the beautiful sunset view, the members started with cocktails at the terrace and there was a line where the member waited to have their caricature drawn. Dinner started at 7.30pm with a welcome speech from our CEO, Mr Dag Holmboe. The highlights of the dinner were the two cigars served alongside with the sumptuous menu prepared by the Verandah, the Cohiba Medio Siglo (the newest addition to the Linea line) and the Trinidad Topes (Edicion Limitada 2016).
And of course, the night would not be complete without entertainments and raffles (Mr Johnny Yen won the Grand Prize of the night). At the end of the night, everyone left with a gift bag consists of the caricature sketch and a box of delicious éclairs from L’éclair de Genie.
